Broome...

As predicted (by Andrew) there were tears (of joy) at the airport when Mum spotted us.  Anyone looking on might’ve thought we hadn’t seen each other for a year of more…. not 7 weeks!!

We had 4 nights together in Broome at the Broome Beach Resort – we had an entire 3 bedroom apartment to ourselves!!!  The washing machine and dryer hardly took a breath while we were there and the pool was just heaven as the weather was HOT.

Our time in Broome marked the halfway point of our journey...we ticked over 12,000 kms just before we arrived back in Broome.  Here's where we've been:

We spent most of our time in Broome relaxing but we did enjoy some of what was on offer - Chinatown, the lighthouse, the pearling monument, The Cable Beach Polo, an afternoon ride on a camel and a lovely dinner at the Matso’s brewery.

Andrew was offered a spot on a fishing trip and had the best day of fishing he's ever had..

Leaving the comfort of the apartment was hard.  As were drove out of Broome I had a nervous apprehensive feeling about the next half of the journey.  It feels like we’ve been on the road for a long time.  I wonder if we have the stamina for the next half, will the scenery be as beautiful and spectacular as it has been, will everyone be happy getting back into the tent after the comparative luxury of the apartment (including me!!!).

It’s amazing how quickly you adapt to your current situation – I needn't have worried about any of it..

A.
